Frequently asked questions
How much does concrete driveway replacement cost?
It depends on the size, how much has to be removed, the condition of the soil and base, the thickness, reinforcement, the finish and any permit or apron work. Two driveways of the same size can be priced very differently. Send photos and rough measurements and we will give you a free written estimate after we have seen the job.
How much does sidewalk replacement cost?
Sidewalk work is usually priced by the number of squares or the square footage, plus removal, base work, any curb work and permits. Photos of the whole frontage and the problem squares let us give you a much better starting number.
Can cracked concrete be repaired?
Often, yes. Narrow cracks where both sides are still level can be sealed to keep water out. Sections that have sunk, lifted or broken apart usually need to be cut out and replaced. We will tell you which one your concrete needs.
When should concrete be replaced instead of repaired?
When most of the surface is cracked, several sections have moved, water drains toward the building, or the damage keeps coming back after repairs. Those usually point to a base or drainage problem that a patch cannot fix.
How long does concrete take to cure?
Concrete keeps getting stronger for weeks. As a general guide, people can usually walk on it after 24 to 48 hours, cars can drive on a driveway after about 7 days, and it reaches its design strength at around 28 days. Temperature, humidity and the mix change these times, so we give you the timing for your job.
How long does driveway replacement take?
For a typical home driveway, removal and base preparation often take a day or two and the pour is usually one day, followed by roughly a week before driving on it. Weather, permits and the size of the driveway can change the schedule.
Can you replace only part of a sidewalk?
Yes. Sidewalks are made of separate squares, so damaged squares can be cut out and replaced on their own.
